Scope Planner — Terms of Use
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms apply to the use of the Scope Planner app for Jira Cloud (“the app”), developed and published on the Atlassian Marketplace by DSPlugins (“the developer”). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you install the app on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
1. Service
The app provides bulk and inline estimation of Jira issues, private and team-shared estimation drafts, and publishing of estimates back to Jira fields (a Pro feature — see section 2). It runs on the Atlassian Forge platform inside your Atlassian site and is additionally subject to Atlassian’s own terms, including the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use.
2. Free and paid features; licensing
- The app’s core estimation features — the estimation table, private and team-shared drafts, totals and breakdown, and Sprint Preview — are available to all users of an installed site.
- Certain features (currently: publishing estimates to Jira fields, including retrying failed publishes; CSV export; per-assignee workload and capacity warnings; estimation history; and auto-calculated target velocity — “Pro features”) require an active paid subscription or an active evaluation (trial) obtained through the Atlassian Marketplace.
- Without an active subscription or trial you can estimate and keep drafts, but you cannot publish estimates into your Jira issues. Publishing is a Pro feature. Your drafts are retained, and publishing becomes available as soon as a subscription or trial is active.
- All purchasing, billing, renewal, evaluation, and refund handling is performed by Atlassian under the Atlassian Marketplace terms. The developer does not process payments and never receives your payment details.
- Pro features are enabled and disabled automatically based on the license state Atlassian reports for your site. If your subscription lapses, Pro features stop working; your stored drafts and settings are not deleted by a license change.
- You may not circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, the app’s license enforcement.
3. Your responsibilities
- Publishing estimates writes values into your Jira issues. Publishing is always initiated explicitly by a user and executed with that user’s own Jira permissions. You are responsible for reviewing the publish preview before applying changes.
- Site administrators are responsible for configuring the correct Jira fields in the app’s admin settings. Publishing writes to the fields the administrator configured; choosing the wrong field is not a malfunction of the app.
- You are responsible for anything you do with data you export from the app (for example the CSV export), including compliance with your organisation’s policies.
4. Acceptable use
You may not attempt to circumvent Jira permissions, abuse the app to modify issues you are not authorized to edit (the platform prevents this), interfere with the operation of the app or the Forge platform, or reverse the app for the purpose of building a competing derivative from its distributed form.
5. Intellectual property
The app, its code, design, and documentation remain the property of the developer. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app within your Atlassian site for the duration of your installation (and, for Pro features, your subscription). Your Jira data remains yours; these terms grant the developer no rights over it beyond what is needed to run the app inside your site.
6. Support; availability and changes
- Support is provided on a reasonable-effort basis via the contact below and the app’s Marketplace support channel. No response time or service level is guaranteed.
- The app depends on the Atlassian Forge platform and Jira Cloud APIs, whose availability and behaviour are outside the developer’s control. Features may change, be added, or be removed in updates. Reasonable effort is made to keep updates backwards-compatible with stored drafts.
- The developer may discontinue the app; in that case the Marketplace listing and Atlassian’s platform policies govern notice and data handling on uninstallation.
7. Warranty and liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from the use of or inability to use the app; and (b) the developer’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the app shall not exceed the amounts you paid for the app through the Atlassian Marketplace in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you paid nothing, fifty (50) USD). Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using and uninstall it.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence where such exclusion is not permitted.
8. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. The developer may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms (in particular sections 2 and 4). Sections 5 and 7 survive termination. Data handling on uninstallation is described in the Privacy Policy and governed by Atlassian’s platform policy.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the app or applicable law changes. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current revision; material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes on the Atlassian Marketplace. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer is legally established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country applies and cannot be contracted away.
11. Privacy
Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. Summary: all data stays within Atlassian’s infrastructure; only Atlassian account IDs are stored as personal data; GDPR deletion and anonymization are handled automatically; billing data is handled solely by Atlassian.
